Data

Data-informed decision making

I am developing practical capability in data analysis, reporting, visualisation and performance thinking, particularly where data can support better decisions in tourism, visitor experience and organisations.

Approach

What I am building

I am not positioning myself as a technical data specialist, programmer or data engineer. My focus is on data-informed decision making and performance thinking: using data to understand situations, support decisions and communicate clearly.

In tourism, this connects naturally to questions about visitor experience, destination performance, tourism research and evidence-informed decisions.

Tourism

Connection to tourism

Data and performance thinking can support tourism decisions in several ways: understanding visitor experience, measuring destination performance, tracking key indicators, and building evidence that informs planning and development.

I am interested in how data can be used responsibly, without reducing the visitor experience to numbers alone. The goal is clearer insight, not just more dashboards.
